On Tuesday, November 4th, 2008, Barack Hussein Obama was elected the 44th President of the United States. Although it pains me to say that, considering I was personally backing John McCain for the Presidency. A few days back, I outlined my reasons for backing him in a post entitled, “My Official Selection For President“. I feel exactly the same as I did when I wrote that. I don’t see Barack possessing what we need at this point in our nations history. I find his economic policies sadly very socialist. I have nothing against the fact that Barack is black. While there are people in this country that feel that a black man can/will not successfully lead this country, I am not one of them. My dislike of the outcome of this election is based entirely on his policies. I would feel the same way if a green man with the same policies had been elected in his place.
That said, I give him the fairest of chances. I don’t think he’ll be able to find half the money to do a third of the things he plans on doing. You read that right. He won’t be able to afford near the government programs he thinks he will I imagine. The country is in an economic crapstorm, so to speak. We’re trillions of dollars in debt to other nations, and we’ve no plan to pay it off. And the “plan” to fix the economy, can only be paid for in two ways. Either you stop spending, (a foreign concept to liberals) or you “create” more money. Unfortunately, our government leans toward the latter of those two, and its come to bite us in the rear.
Let’s all as a country follow along and see what “change” Mr. Obama has in store for us and how his policies effect the nation. Frankly, I’m excited to see what the next four years has to offer.
